Stay focused and stay calm. I sometimes wonder how can she do it when even her fans are so jittery and anxious. Then I think about situations when I'm put under pressure and spotlight to perform, and I remember getting nervous only before the event--like right before public speaking. But I notice that as long as I'm prepared, the moment I start I calm down and no longer feel nervous. It's the lead-up and anticipation that's the killer. :sweatingbullets:

Did you notice she is wearing a ring again?
Is it a rosery ring?

I'm so happy to know that she is in good condition and the ice quality looks friendly to her. :)
I don't want her many things for this WC. It is the first big competition after she took break.
No accident and injury, 2 tickets for Sochi, and enjoy (maybe??) the last opportunity to perform Kiss of the Vampire and Le Miserable!!

^ beautyuna pointed out a few days ago :)

But is it the ring she wore in Vancouver, the silver one that Orser gave her? As far as I can see, it looks like a gold ring.

I thought this ring is about her Christian, or some kind of rosary?
I adore Yu-Na's artistry on ice!

My proudest moment this year is when I saw Yuna's SP world's record by my own eyes at the World's Championship in Tokyo!
I was the only one in the row who stood up for standing ovation! (ignoring many death glares from surrounding Japanese audience^^'')

just amazing! wohoo she still can do it and what a beautiful 3toe! Now I want to see it in competition again <_< stupid rule change!

@realdeal
I have to give back your compliment: Excellent post about what defines artistry. For the same reason I was never a Flatt fan or Alena fan. I'm 100% d'accord with what you said about subtility vs. overexpression! Mirai is the only exception I can think of who can go through a programm all bubbly and still let it seem like an honest expression
For me an artistic programm also means, that one can watch it again and again and still find new little details one hasn't noticed before.

@kandity: yes but she lost her rosary ring and Orser gave her another one as replacement.

Final combo spin looks much better than it did earlier in the season--much improved speed.

She had to slow down the ending choreography after the final combo spin to sync with the last bang of the music at the end--which suggests that her spin was indeed faster. :biggrin2:

Amazing practice run-through by "Una Kim".

It looks like her jumps got much better than nationals. Do you guys notice the faster and smoother landing edges? She flows out of her 3/3 and and her other triples faster.

Her jumps looked as smooth as butter. :biggrin2: And at just the first practice.

Her other spins in the individual clips looked improved too (and they weren't at all bad earlier in the season). Has anyone seen a clip of her layback spin?

Yunaaaa! :respec1: Her jumps are as incredible as always and, most of all, her spins have improved A LOT since nationals!! She should receive all level 4s and +2/+3 GOEs... Go Yu-Na!! Now, let's see what the other girls can do better than this... B) ;)

Good luck Yuna

Has been confirmed yet, but it looks like YuNa was at the morning practice (it's still possible that Hersh commented after watching yesterday's practice) We will see.

Philip Hersh ‏@olyphil
Yuna Kim nailed 6 triple jumps in her morning practice. Huge 3 lutz-3 toe

She did a good practice at the practice rink this morning. Clean run through for the jumps. I hope she just stay focused and relaxed. Well at least the Japanese media not at full force this morning. Mao did not show up for practice. Maybe she will at the main rink tonight!

Oh quite a few Yuna banners in the rink!

Looks like some Korean reporters ran into Brian Orser today and had a quick interview.
Here's my rough translation of what he said to the reporters:

-- I don't hold grudges against YuNa (and ATS); no hard feeling. It's already an old story, isn't it?

-- I ran into her today and said hi and so did she.

-- I am well aware of how YuNa has been doing this season. I looked up videos of her performances at NRW and Korean nationals.
I don't know much about what other people might have thought about her, but to me, it is no surprise at all.
She's such a talented skater and I knew she could come back strong.

-- I can see her pull it off at Worlds so long as she stays focused.

Good to hear this.

Sending positive vibes to Yuna! :respec1:

Personally, I really hope that they have a chance to square things with each other someday.

No matter what misunderstanding and communication breakdowns led to the break-up, their journey leading up to the Vancouver olympics will remain as one of the most heartwarming stories in my heart.
