As for Rachael I just don't get her. I think she's a sweet person and a hard worker, but her skating leaves me bored and a bit sleepy...all the time. I thought after last year she'd pick something more up-tempo and lively, for both of her programs. I've seen her LP for this year and it is actually a step down from last year. It's lovely music but it's not right for her to make an impression on the judges. Bland music + bland skating = ZZZZzzzzz with a remainder of a crappy score. I'm just being honest... Even with Mirai's mini-meltdown at worlds, her score was only 1.48 points lower than Rachael's; Rachael has no favor with the judges in terms of GOEs, just check out the protocols from worlds. Nothing pops about Rachael's skating or makes you remember her for more than the few minutes she's on the ice. I wanted to see her bring something new and fresh to the scene and really shock the judges into noticing her (a dramatic makeover a la Michelle in 1996; new style, new look). The judges at last year's nationals ridiculously over-scored her (200+ points? I don't think so...) but I'm sure after the Olympics and then worlds she knows that she's not going to garner those kind of marks in international competitions. With new and exciting skaters coming up, Rachael's going to find it that much harder to stand out and be seen and her marks will continue to get lower and lower.

I don't find her skating memorable either. I think it may be her body shape, because she always strikes me as a very "heavy" and "solid" skater who lacks that certain grace and fluidity. Whenever she lands, there's a heaviness and a thunk, instead of a lightness and a floating sensation.

I'm definitely very curious to see her new tango...haha, she performs it this week,and Yu-Na will have hers created these days... their rivalry is scaring for the number of challenges/coincidences...now,if Yu-Na will do the same in LA,fans will already have their two tangos to compare...woah.. epic battle of the tangos even before the season starts... but uhm,it's more likely that our girl keeps hers top-secret until the competition day. Pity! : )

I don't know, but she practised her 3a after tango rehearsal.
