:biggrin2: Only fitting to start a new thread to reminisce over Yu-Na's amazing Olympic victory!

On February 25, 2010, Yu-Na won the Olympic gold medal in figure skating.

This is a terrific crystal-clear fancam of Yu-Na's FS. I love this video because it's like I'm there, watching Yu-Na perform. It's amazing seeing how big her jumps are and how impressive her skating is from a distance. And the response from the crowd is incredible. Only drawback is that this fancam is not the whole FS, but it does show her in the kiss & cry from another angle, which is pretty cool.

 2010 Olympics--my favorite Olympics for figure skating out of all the Olympics I've watched since 1992--all because of Yu-Na Kim!

SBS re-broadcasted the Olympics FS yesterday to commemorate Yuna's OGM, and of course, I sat there watching, teary-eyed and mesmerized, once again awed by the perfection of it all... perfection is a fleeting ideal that is almost never reached by humans... and Yuna did it in the most important competition in her life.
"If this was track and field, we just watched an 8-second 100 meters." Jamie McGrigor, a skating analyst commenting on Yuna's LP performance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics

"How do you make a Kim Yu-Na... you can't. It's truly a gift." Scott Hamilton, gold medalist and NBC commentator

Not one faulty landing or misstep--it's incredible.

What makes it even greater, in my opinion, is how awesome the whole final group was. Now, I'm not a fan of Rachael Flatt, but in my opinion, the high level of the performances of the final group allows Yu-Na to shine even brighter. Yu-Na gave the best of a whole group of personal best performances, you know?

Rachael Flatt and Mirai Nagasu gave really excellent performances that could've contended in other Olympics with not as much depth. Miki Ando was really the only shaky one, while Mao Asada and Joannie Rochette gave two performances that were incredibly strong for different reasons (Mao for her triple axel; Rochette because she held it together after the death of her mother).

And there was Yu-Na, with the most special of special performances at an unforgettable Olympics.

Here's another cool panoramic photo montage:

Here's a run-through of her FS:

Perfect! It's amazing how many people attended the practices...it's like a mini-competition in itself. And Yu-Na never faltered.

What's interesting is in comparison, Mirai was having amazing practices and landing 3Lz/3T. But when it came time for the competition, Mirai faltered in the SP on her combo and decided to go for 3Lz/2t. No guts, no glory.

I love that fancam! If only they had the complete program. (It's the only fancam I've seen that captures the opening combo.)

I hear Scott Hamilton saying at Yuna's absolute victory, Joannie's emotions, Mao's triple axels, and two US ladie's thrilling performances, "Everybody's happy!" lol

Ladies' Final Group was so impressive, really makes you wonder if there was and will be a competition like that ever!

Awwww.... three of my favourite skaters relaxing after competition and Yuna in full center force mode complete with biggest smile of them all (and her infamous natural unkempt side fringe - or what did you guys name it Realdeal? Robster?). That picture is simply priceless and I adore it! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats Yuna and Yunafans! Another 2 years flew by, so much has changed in Yuna's life as so probably many of us. Wonder what the future hold for Yuna and the future of Korea figure skating. Whatever she decide and whatever the outcome, I am sure we'd continue to be surprised, delighted and impressed, along with all the support where we can!

Well done Yuna, may you smile like this always!!

I know! I think it's hilarious that the other fancams missed out on the opening combo--too big!

I doubt it. It really was a fabulous group, and a competition for the ages.

Thank you so much everyone for sharing videos and pics. What a wonderful anniversary it is! I don't think I can ever forget that moment. But somehow it feels like it was about 5 years ago! Most of all I like picture of Yuna's mom and dad, their eyes tell it all.
